ASTROSE Capabilities

Hardware and software solutions are available to install a working ASTROSE monitoring system. These were designed with the objectives of ampacity optimization, ice warning, and risk detection in mind. The illustration shows how the different components in the system work together. The equipment and services are provided in partnership by the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and the LTB Leitungsbau GmbH. 

The basic package includes the entire hardware and software needed for monitoring overhead lines:

• Wireless sensor nodes to monitor the line and share the data
• Mobile and stationary base stations to receive and forward the monitoring data
• ASTROSE server (industry-grade PC) to handle the data
• ASTROSE data engine to operate the ASTROSE server
• ASTROSE application software to use the monitoring data

Your custom system for overhead line monitoring is planned, prepared, installed, and commissioned in cooperation with you.

The expansion pack includes hardware and software components that are required for special use cases or unusual operating conditions.
